a short story“How was school?”, I asked my daughter as she climbed into the car. “Boring. We all had BOATs today. And I didn’t get to miss Math class. I HATE my teacher!” I looked at her inquiringly. “Boats?” I asked. The part about math class was a refrain often repeated. “You mean you went on a field trip? Or you built boats?” She looked at me incredulously.
